Welcome to Cleveland

The first BIG trade in this mini trade season has happened! The clock was ticking down on Andrew Bynum  contract and the Cavaliers pulled the trigger on the deal with Chicago Bulls for Luol Deng. According to the reports Deng and Bynum are the main pieces that match the salaries, but additional draft picks are included in the deal. Chicago will acquire 3 future draft picks, one 1st rounder and two 2nd rounders and also there is the right to swap 2015 first round picks with the Cavs (1-14 protected)

Here is what the Cavaliers General Manager Chris Grant announced tonight from Cleveland Clinic Courts. “We are very excited for Luol to join the Cavaliers organization, ” said Grant. “We have worked to acquire and maintain flexibility in order to capitalize on opportunities such as this. Luol reflects all that we are striving for in building our team. He’s a tremendous defensive player that can impact the game on both ends of the court with a team first mentality and is a high character leader.”

Andrew Bynum is expected to be waived by the Bulls and become unrestricted free agent. Teams like Clippers, Heat and Lakers are after his services
